Who Am I

Who Am I

Who do you say I should be?
Photographer Rania Matar was fascinated as her 15-year-old daughter transformed into a complete stranger from the little girl she had raised. She watched as her daughter’s friends performed in front of each other, hiding behind smiles. She decided to photograph each girl alone in her bedroom, what she considers an “extension of the girl.”

What Matt and Danni been doin……:-)

Matt and Danni have been working really hard on various tasks around the Australian Technical College.

Matt has been busy developing a program called ‘Mocha’ which is a student and employer management system/ pastoral care/ time tabling…….system- basically whatever is needed. So you can imagine the magnitude of that task – it’s been occupying Matt’s mind even in his deepest sleep. On top of that (humanly almost impossible) he has been researching and evaluating a variety of learning software programs.

Danni has continued to find resources for teachers and students, as well as supporting students with special needs, as well as trying out links to programs which have been posted by you and seeing where they might fit. She’s also been developing content to put on students’ phones for their info- last items were Occupational Health and Safety Video, Maths time tables and a blood donation brochure.

Basically, those two have been too damn busy to go exploring too much- hence it’s good to be back here! J

Welcome back Web 2 SuperStars

It will be great to work together again.  To start, a few thanks:

  • First to Pieter for his tip on the very cool Dipity Web 2 tool that integrates a slick ajax interface with YouTube, Google Maps, Flickr, any links or images to make custom interactive timelines.
  • Thanks to Jamie for his posts from NECC in San Antonio.  We look forward to hearing more.
  • Also to Muriel who participated in the KnowledgeBank Conference hosted by Steve Hargadon and many from the Classroom 2.0 project.

Much has happened since we’ve last seen each other: the Apple shop is open in Sydney, the iPhone has finally officially reached our shores and we’ve been “Street-viewed” (any gossip or dramas from people you know getting caught on Google camera?).

When we get together again on Wednesday, it would be great for everyone to share one main Web 2.0 activity you’ve done with students since our last workshop day at AISV.

NECC Conference 2008

Hi guys,

I’m over in San Antonio, Texas, for the annual National Educational Computing Conference. 18,000 delegates and hundreds of amazing sessions.

There is a NECC Ning and and ACCE Study Tour Ning at:

Both worth checking out.

I’m blogging about each session I attend at:

You might like to have a glance and follow some links. Its all very exciting. Such a buzz to be talking and listening to thousands of educators passionate about using ICTs (Web 2.0s particularly this year!) for teaching and learning.

So far, I’ve posted on : The Wisdom of Crowds, Wikinomics, Wikis, Blogs, Online Discussions and Educational Leadership for 21st Century Classrooms …

DIPITY

I came across this INTERACTVE TIMELINE  site. This would be great for History and English Lit. The only draw back I see so far is that it doesn’t go further back than 200AD. Dipity describes itself …
“Dipity is the easiest way to make and share interactive timelines about the people and things you care about. “

Welcome Back & Where to?

As you can see from a previous post, many of you have been busy and creative experimenting with your blogs!

Let’s begin by sharing successes and stumbles, then brainstorm your personal goals.   These will direct your learning  and productivity today and into Term 2.

I’d like to share a couple cool tools with your as well.  They tend to take advantage of FireFox’s browser extensions, so if you haven’t downloaded and installed FireFox, I’ll pass you the installer.
